July 19, 2013

Dear Maddox.

Happy first birthday little man. I love you soo much. You are such a joy. I feel blessed beyond measure to be your mom. You have brought so much laughter and smiles this last year to our family. Your brother has become your best bud, it melts my heart when you guys are playing with each other and when Luke jumps into your crib after you wake up without fail to lay with you and rub your back.. Of course 99 % of the time Luke is usually showing more tough love than anything, so it will be nice when you get big enough to defend yourself.

Weighing in at 21 pounds 14.6 ounces. 27 inches

Maddox at 1 years old:

Maddox really you really are the sweetest spirited kid ever. Content. Rarely gets upset. Puts himself to sleep every time. Loves people. Loves to laugh. He is officially walking. That happened way too fast. Happiest baby. Can take you anywhere and I know that you will behave. Your still not eating food, hoping it happens soon. I love you more and more each day!!! Your mommy’s little mini me!!! Love you for infinity!!!

11 months!! Seriously! I only have 1more month until by baby is no longer a baby. (officially turns 1 next week) I can’t believe how fast time as flown. I guess it only seems fast now because I am looking back, but actually that was the longest year of my life lol.. I am still running on empty barely keeping my eyes open half of the day. Two kids close together and both in diapers is no joke. Honestly I know I will be completely joyed when the boys can play with each other growing up and be into the same things at the same time because of their age,  but sometimes for that brief moment when their both whining and screaming and needing to be changed, I think to myself WHAT in the world were you thinking Ashley!

Maddox is the sweetest cuddle bug ever. He has the greatest temperament, even when getting pounced and pushed by his brother on a daily (minute to minute) occasion.

Maddox is weighing in at 21 pounds

He is free standing and taking a few steps already.

He is still not having ANYTHING to do with food.. I mean nothing! It’s getting a lot harder to see an end to this breastfeeding thing.

Is still waking up once to eat at night. Still a great napper.

Loves the water! Definitely going to be a swimmer. Screams when you take him out.

He is wearing 12 months clothes, size 4 shoes, and size 4 diapers.

Is growing quite the ponytail, I will admit I don’t want to get ride of it despite what Dan says.. but I might just have to bite the bullet and do it before he turns 1 next month.

Started crying when he sees me leave the room. Just started getting a little stranger danger, took longer than I thought it would take.

Saturday morning we woke up and decided to be spontaneous haha… With two little boys the zoo always seems to be a pretty perfect idea. Luke loves his “anna-malls” We packed up the boys and headed to Sacramento. We never know how the day will play out with the extreme amount of energy Luke has these days, but it was pretty close to perfect. The boys both fell asleep on the car ride there, giving Danny and I almost a date lol.. Being alone and having quiet is rare these days. The boys had so much fun. Were happy our day of spontaneity turned out so great!!

Grandparents are the best!!

Thursday, June 13th, 2013

I will be the first to admit I have the best grandparents that anyone coud ask for… This past month my grandpa, which loves to do yard work, by loves I mean takes care of everyones yards on his whole block, for nothing more than he loves to do it and of course his extreme pride to make the surrounding yards look presentable, came down and gave our oh so shameful front yard a makeover.  He worked for 2 days straight!! He is such a wonderful man and I love him so much.. Thank you for making our neighbors love us again 🙂 The yard looks beautiful!! Come back anytime.. No really please come back!!! 🙂

Little Maddox is 10 months old!!!  He is weighing in at 21 pounds and looking so tall at 31 inches

Maddox is standing up on everything and scaling the couches. I really think he might start walking before 1.

He passed Papaya last week.. YAY we are up to 2 safe foods now. Broccoli and Papaya 🙂 He still hates to eat and I have to open his mouth for him to get the food in to test, but that will come with time, were just thrilled he hasn’t had a vomiting episode for 2 months 🙂 And we passed Similac the regular formula just in case we can’t breastfeed anymore.

Loves to sit on the couch and crawl back and forth, he laughs so hard. He thinks he’s so big.

Loves to swirl and run his fingers through my hair as he is trying to fall asleep.

Is slightly obsessed with his pacifier and blanket. I guess this has its goods and bads.

Is all about mommy. And I admit I am really lovin it:) especially since my little Lukey is daddy crazy at the moment.

Loves playing the drums, playing with tuberware, bathtime splashing, and his new found joy of clapping.

9 months

My little mini me is 9 months (1/2). It feels so surreal that I am going to have 1 year old soon.. He is so sweet and loves to smile.. He is quite the independent one. He loves playing with toys and follows Luke around like a puppy. I love watching them play together, though Luke is still not into sharing quite yet, so its more like grabbing and stealing toys from each other 🙂

He has the prettiest blue eyes and is from the look of it still keeping his blonde locks. Totally opposite from his brother, that’s why he’s my mini me 🙂 and Luke is definitely a Danny Jr.

Maddox is weighing in at 19 pounds 15 ounces and 30 1/2 inches. He is still around 100% percentile for his height and has dropped a little to 65% percentile for weight.

Maddox is standing up on any and everything. Exciting but not when you have a toddler running around like a tornado making it difficult to not be knocked down.

Says mama all day long.. So sweet. He will hear my voice in the other room and start saying mama as he is crawling at turbo pace to find me.

Loves to dance. Loves to be thrown in the air and do airplane. Loves to get into everything.

Is the greatest napper in the world. Takes 2 a day for about 2 hours. Goes down like a champ, but still waking up once in the night to feed.

Still not eating anything, he won’t even let the spoon touch his mouth before crying.. So breastfeeding it is still.

We had our first safe food this week. YAY for BROCOLLI. He hated it but not reaction so this is one happy mommy!!! I will write a post more on Maddox’s condition on FPIES.. (If you want to learn more here is a link.)

He is wearing 12 months clothes compared to Luke wearing 2T at this age WHAT lol

We Love you our sweet Maddox!!

Trying to Keep Up.

Life is so crazy!! I feel like there isn’t enough time and the time I do have is full of responsibility. haha. Sometimes I feel like I am drowning in my to do list. Every night when I put the kids to bed after being mommy ALL day to 2 VERY active boys, I stare into the baby monitors and can’t help but sit there and watch them sleep so innocently and peaceful.. I then I remember that there will always be a to do list and that the only thing that matters, is not how much I get done during the day, but that we are all happy and healthy.

I have been a horrible. horrible . blogger. After today’s overload of a post I am going to do my best to blog after each event…

Since I am too busy to write in detail about everything that has happened in the past month or so I will just post pictures and put some captions, I mean aren’t pictures the best part anyways 🙂

Jocelyn"s Bridal Shower I threw for her in March 🙂

Some of the centerpieces we made

Luke playing his guitar with daddy!! Teaching him young. He loves it!

This is how our park days have been looking.. Luke running around and not having anything to do with the actual park. This makes for one tired mommy and one hopefully good nap for Luke..

One of my besties.. Nicole and I had Albrejes celebrating her hubby Ryan's birthday!! Fun night.

Hanging out in our diapers.. Sometimes it feels so surreal that I have two kids both at the age to be in diapers.. Can't wait for that to be over.. Seriously

The calm before the storm.. Literally!! These 2 crack me up in the bath. I am probably just has wet as them when they are done..

I am a big boy now!! Can't believe he is almost walking!!

March Already

Wednesday, March 13th, 2013

Time is flying by and I can’t even recall half of the things I have done this year. It feels like a huge whirlwind of changing diapers, feeding and feeding, and cleaning.. lol.. The boys are at a fun age right now and I am feeling excited to start doing more things outside now that the weather is getting nicer. Danny has been working a lot lately, more than usual, so I am finding myself trying to come up with new and fun things for the boys to do without Dan there to help. If anyone knows my sweet little Luke, then they would probably know that going most places new that include not being contained in a car seat or stroller, is definitely a 2 person job. I have to admit he is getting a whole lot better but his independence sure is his strong hold. This last week we were playing in the backyard ( Oh yes we finally lay concrete out in the backyard yay!! Now we have a pile of dirt on the other side of the yard, which for the time being is pretty perfect, like a boys dream)

So anyways I was sitting at the patio table and Luke was running around and then he decided to play on the side yard, there is nothing over there dangerous and there is a solid fence without a gate so I figured he was pretty safe.. So i could hear him banging his trucks around and then for a couple minutes I wasn’t hearing him banging his trucks anymore, I didn’t think anything of it, I called him and he didn’t come, which is nothing unusual 🙂 So about 5 minutes had probably passed and I decided to get up and walk over there… When I looked around the corner to my HOAR I see that he moved one of the slats in the fence (only Luke) and he was gone… I charged through the fence breaking the entire thing, and found myself in the middle of the street, standing in my robe, screaming Luke’s name!!! I have NEVER been so scared in my entire life, I was in a complete panic!!! I had only seconds to decide which way I was going to run left or right and all I remember doing was asking  Heavenly father what do I do what do I do… help me help me!!!.. I knew there was a busy street only a few houses down to the left so I went that way… What seemed like 20 minutes I found him playing in the neighbors side yard with his truck not thinking anything was wrong.. I ran up to him, tears running down my face, and held him and wouldn’t let go all day… I have never been this scared and since then have bolted up the fences with plywood.. This kid needs a tracking device!!!

Onto a far less dramatic time.. my birthday haha My birthday fell on  Thursday this year, so I wasn’t planning on actually doing anything since the kids go to bed early and Dan has to wake up early for work.. But to my surprise Dan asked our sweet friend Jocelyn ( Aaron’s fiance) to come watch the kiddos while we went out. I was completely surprised that Dan decided to take  me to a sewing couples session with the most fun teacher ever.. Cindy Bunney Sew Fun For Kids LOVE her!!! It was a great time.. 🙂 We each sewed a pair of pajama bottoms and sported them the rest of the night. I grateful to have a husband that is willing to try anything and to do anything that makes me happy.. He’s quite the catch!!The next day we got to go out again this time to dinner and run around and do some errands.. Seems like it wouldn’t be fun, but surprisingly without kids, Target, the grocery store, and anything for the matter seems a lot more fun lol.. I love my kids, but alone time is sooo nice sometime!!

Sewing our pj's

The last couple of months have consisted of parks, playing in the dirt, lots of baths, sick kids, movies, and lots of whining 🙂 Ill let pictures do the rest of the talking …

Going on a walk.. Brothers? I still don't see it lol

Sliding down the slide. Try a moms worst nightmare.. runnning down the slide!!!

Loving that blonde poof!!!

So cute!!

We finally transitioned Luke to a big boy bed.. It has been about 3 months now and he loves it!!!

7 months

Thursday, March 7th, 2013

Maddox is seven months and growing up way too fast…

He is weighing in at 19 pounds and wearing size 9 months clothes

He still is quite possibly the happiest baby I have ever witnessed… Hands down!!! He is sitting up like a champ and can get to anywhere he wants by rolling and scooting. He’s at the verge of crawling, but isn’t quite there yet… He has sprouted another tooth on the bottom, that makes three. And his two front teeth are just about to come through.. He is the greatest napper during the day and stays on schedule with 2 two hour naps, but he still is waking up once during the night… I love him to pieces, his curiosity for life and everything going on around him, is adorable… He doesn’t want to miss a thing!!!
